"Lockhart breaks down the misconception that writing is about divine inspiration, or even having all the answers. She gives teenagers permission to start creating – to get their feelings down on paper no matter how messy the draft. Her advice empowers all of us with the pluck to explore the feelings we don’t want to go near. Our inner-city kids would never have been exposed to this kind of creative permission... which will ultimately aid them in whatever they do in life.”
